Our Story

Cépage de Lumière was born from a love of French terroir and a belief that the finest things are made slowly, by hand, for the few who notice.

Our wines are crafted with a three-generation family house in Burgundy, and our first vintage is released on a wedding day — a promise of light, kept in a glass.

Cépage de Lumière — the light of Burgundy, in every bottle.

It began, as the best things do, with a journey. Ayhan and Ekaterina discovered Burgundy together — its light, its patience, its quiet way of turning soil and sun into something worth slowing down for. They fell in love with the place, and with each other.

Ayhan grew up among vines. Four generations of winemakers came before him — that is the palate, and the instinct, he carried to Burgundy when he went looking for a wine worth putting their name on. He found it in an award-winning family house, three generations deep, founded in 1951.

The name says what we believe: cépage de lumière — a grape variety of light. Great wine is nothing more, and nothing less, than light captured in a glass.

We are a small house, and we intend to stay that way. A few hundred bottles. Chosen with care. Shared with the people who notice the difference.

Our first vintage launches on the day we marry — the brand and the marriage, beginning together.

We sell direct — restaurant to cellar, with no importers in between. Every bottle is accounted for, and founding allocations for the 2026 vintage are deliberately small.
